Webinar on COVID-19: Air Handling Units and Air Recirculation

23 August 2020

2 min read

Dubai, 27 August 2020. With knowledge on the COVID-19 pandemic constantly evolving, Eurovent Middle East takes a closer look at ventilation aspects essential for the safe and continued use of our built infrastructure. The two-part webinar will cover a range of topics from Hygienic Air Handling Units, Energy Recovery and Air Recirculation to condition based monitoring and drives. It is designed for engineers, service providers and building operators alike.

Two of the world’s leading engineering associations, The American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations (REHVA), along with a growing number of other organisations have issued guidance on how to approach risk mitigation in the built environment accounting for the potential of airborne transmission of the disease. While shutting down air recirculation is an option in cooler climatic zones, it creates several issues in hot climates; from exorbitant increases in energy bills to overloading of cooling systems.

The first part of the webinar on 9 September 2020 will focus on Hygienic Air Handling Units, Energy Recovery and Air Filtration, while the second part on 16 September 2020 will take a closer look at Air Handling Units, Drives and Controls from a technical standpoint.

Webinar topics further include:

  • Airborne pathogens and Ventilation: Importance of Ventilation, Air Filtration and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
  • Hygienic Air Handling Units: Definition, standards and certification
  • Recirculation and the role of Energy Recovery
  • Air Filtration recommendations
  • Condition based monitoring
  • Drives and Motors

Each webinar is concluded with a panel discussion and dedicated Q&A session, where participants are invited to discuss any issues related to the topics. Register now and become part of the HVACR Leadership Workshop: Air Recirculation and Air Handling Units. Join us online on 9 and 16 September 2020 from 11:00-13:00h (GST) for an informative exchange with peers and industry leaders. Registration is free-of-charge via https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1993319332738353680
